Good point, Irishmafia. Yes, the shortstop did tag the lead runner first.

The play also reminded me of the comment Joe Garagiola once made when two runners are occupying third base at the same time: To be on the safe side you should tag everybody--including the third base coach!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the order of the tags should be irrelevant in this case. The runner from first is forced to second because of the non-catch, and therefore is the only one of the three who has the right to occupy second and cannot be out as long as he remains there. Even if the batter/runner is tagged first while all three are standing on second - thus taking off the force - the lead runner is still forced to third by the runner from first properly advancing to second on the non-catch.
Correct or not?

Not. If R2 is tagged before R1, R1 is no longer forced and cannot be retired while in contact with the base.

Not.

Once the BR is out, no runners are forced to advance.
