Umpire Ruling Needed
Greetings !!! Situation - Bases are loaded. The basecoach calls timeout and wanted his 3 runners together for a conference. The 3 leave their bases and come to the coach who is out between 2nd base and 3rd base. The umpire grants time and after seeing what is being done, ends the conference immediately. What is the ruling ? Thanks Coach Joe |

Why "ends the conference immediately"? |

However, if time wasn't granted and the pitcher is in the circle with possession of the ball when the runners leave their respective bases, guess what? Call one out, then grant the charged conference  |

Your question lacks.. .. well, a question. There isnt enough clarity in your scenario to give any real response. try again coach. |
I wonder if he did that because he saw what was being done or if it was because of something else that was happening.

I, too, am thinking there's something we're not being told. Maybe the coach is trying to play shuffle-the-runners? Giving them water?

I guess you folks have never seen this kind of riddle before...
Even though he says, "What is the ruling?", he's not asking for a ruling - he's asking for an explanation. He's asking us to see if we can figure out what happened to cause this situation to occur. IE - what did the umpire see? It's like one of these: "A man is found dead, face down in a field wearing an unopened backpack. What happened?" One answer being that this man was a parachutist whose chute failed to open. That said, I cannot come up with the answer. Can you? |

Depends on how big a jerk the coach has been during the game. |
Not sure this is what he is trying to get out, but some umpires and coaches seem to believe that an offensive conference cannot be legally held in fair territory. I suspect that comes from some alleged LL rulings (if they even ever existed) that the coach must stay behind the foul lines and players must come to him.
Don't do LL, so if that isn't correct, or has changed, or is limited in age levels, I don't know. Just an observation and guess what may have caused what was reported. |

Coach Joe sounds a bit like Coach Steve that I had last night. I was informed by said Coach that there is no way a runner can be safe on a force at 2nd if she goes in standing up.
And I'm not really taking a serious shot at Coach Joe, although is post is obviously lacking. I'm just taking this opportunity to give a little back to the Coaches of the world since I have to bite my tongue during games. ;) |

Riddle
I think I agree with Irish Mafia on this one.
The way the OP is worded, it sounds as if the Coach was already on the field and talking to the players before time was granted. |
