Actually, you are right, I've never worked in Texas. Too damn hot for me. P'cola was hot enough a few years ago when the temp and humidity both felt like 95 with a big sun and no breeze. Worked in OK & FL a couple of times and AL once, but not TX.

Seriously,

Probably our (Texas) loss. I am sure most of the other Texican's that visit this board would think the same.....

It was 100 here last week and it's just April. Lucky for us, we had a cold front come through so we are in the low 90's this week.
Last year we had a National UIC from up north (anyting past Oklahoma is north) down here and he could not understand why we all carried water bottles on the field with us, but after the first day he got the idea.

This Texan loves it here.

Well, welcome Rodan. Guess I'm just another Yankee - since I understand a damn yankee to be one who comes down there & stays.

I'd be jealous of the weather & year-round ball, but I'll stick with the cold stuff if Glen's experiences are part of the weather down there.

Things just got a little worse. The city shut down my house building. Said I was not meeting the codes. Have all my material cut and ready to nail up, but am awaiting approval. I was just going to tie into the existing sewer and electrical, but they say new codes will not allow that now.

IMPOSTER!

Any real Texan knows it's spelled "y'all", not "ya'll"!!!

Welcome aboard!

Wanted to also welcome y'all to the board. Not sure about the spelling of "y'all", since I am a transplant from Western Texas, and we don't speak like that there (except maybe for the far western and far eastern part of my hometown).

And don't mind Mike, he's just a "puppy" whose "bark" is far worse than his "bite". But we love him anyways!

Hope to "see" you more often on the board.

Again, Bienvenidos.

Serg (Sergio to my fellow "Texicans")

Remember that "y'all" is singular and "all y'all" is plural.

Glen: Remember the guy from Illinois that lasted 38 min. into the game last year at National's before he had to be taken off the field?
It was a record for Beaumont. I tell ya it's survival of the fittest down there.

Ha, not a real Texas. Originally from Michigan. But, been here since '59. Nothing like working your 10th game of the day during a tournament and it's still 95 at midnight.
