Joel,
Really sorry to hear about Katie's injury. Glad that operation went well and best wishes for a very speedy recovery. Know it will be tough, but have a happy 4th.

Thanks Glen......also thanks to Bob, Don, Mike and others who have kept her in their thoughts........
She helped with oldests 4th of July fundraiser today (until the rains came).......tough to keep a 9yo still (ESPECIALLY this one).......if her feet and arms are not working, her mouth is................grin She is trying to break my family record for broken bones before 15..........grin Plain tylenol has kept the pain away........got some III if needed, but she has not whimpered a bit. She has done a lot better than I would have done..................lol Joel [Edited by Gulf Coast Blue on Jul 4th, 2001 at 08:39 PM] |

Well.........Katie's season finished 2 weeks ago......so it was not Softball related.......she broke the same arm 2 games into last year (that is why I kept her 1 more year in coach pitch).
She was racing her sister to the favored TV watching chair and thought that she could beat her if she could just hurdle a chair..........the chair won........she hit her left arm perfectly against a large stereo speaker....... Last year.....irritated with a boy at the softball park (I was scorekeeping in my middle daughters game)......she took a kick at him.......he grabbed her foot and when she fell backwards............she tried to catch herself and fractured her ulna......good thing is that you cannot even see the previous break on x-rays........bad thing, this time she did not get the pleasure of kicking a boy......... The OPS says that she will be fine in no time (6-7 weeks)........perfect age to heal a broken bone.........and the break was well away from the growth plates..............(whew). Here is a picture taken today.......Lauren's last practice before State...... http://www.eteamz.com/sites/GCBUmpir...picture=415069 Thanks for all the kind thoughts.
