Stopped at a Dennys for a bite to eat after
working a tournament all day in College Station. Ran into a baseball umpire who was just coming in from doing an 18U tournament hisself. He had this story. Game was into about the fourth inning and he had been putting up with some grief about his low strike zone from the visiting coach. (He told me that it was low for both sides). Anway, the coach comes out of the dugout with a golf club and when pitcher pitched coach swings and yells fore. Plate umpire informs coach that he could take his golf club two blocks down the road to the driving range cause his baseball coaching was over for the nite. Dont know if story true or not, but certainly can believe it possible of a coach.
