Question

How is a double forfeit recorded? Both teams didn't show up for the game. Should it be scored a loss for both teams or a tie for both teams?

Tom,

Just hope that they are paying forfeits.

Question

Is this local league games?
Did some players on either team show?

It would probably be best and easier
to just reschedule the game. Dont know
what your local league rules state.
Some leagues do have rules covering
forfeits, however, it sounds like yours
does not.

Like Mike said really not umpire problem,
but know you wanting an answer and really
do not have anything concrete for you.

This is in reply to your e-mail. Could not get
your address to go.

As the umpire, your only concern is to record the situation and report it to the league. They make the decision.

Unhappy

I am also doing game results for this softball league. This is why it is important to me to find out how to record this. We rescheduled the game, but for the future I was wondering how this would be recorded. I couldn't find anything in the rule book.

Tom,

I think you can go to http://www.umpzone.com and ask your question to Hix, Roth, Davis or any of the
others listed on site. You might also check out the
Umpire Handbook of Sotball Rules Differences authored
by J. Bennett.

BBQ pictures got posted this a.m. (had problems updating the site this week) Lauren had an "A" Ball tournament this weekend in Pasadena......we were a "B" Team competing in it.........her team went undefeated in 3 games yesterday and lost early this afternoon after leading 4-0 (essentially they fell apart after 1 defensive error.......but the team that won......was VERY good). Then the lightning and rain came which cancelled the remainder of the tournament. No rain here yet........it has all been staying 20-30 miles to the North.

I turned down the 10U State this weekend because I needed some good "quality" time with the girls. Now just waiting for all my uniforms to get back from the cleaners and making sure I have my gear in order for 18U State next week.
