For all the years that I have been taking the ASA test, it has been 100 questions, 110 if you count the alternate questions. This year it has been pared down to 44 questions, 60 if you count the alternate ones. Anyone (read this as Mike) know why the change?

Could it possibly be that someone recognized the redundancy or
even better the shorter test will motivate more umpires/associations to take it and research the answers?
