Here is a question that has been asked twice.

All catcher's helmets must meet the required NOCSAE
standard and have either a "sticker form" or "embossed"
affixed by the manufacturer.

True/False.

Then give me a reference from the NFHS Rule Book, 05 or 06.

Half of the question is true, True?

(I know picky)

The answer is false. Per 1-7-1, the NOCSAE seal must be permanent. A sticker is not permanent.

The interpretation we have been given here in AZ is that the sticker is considered permanent and is acceptable.

I believe this was questioned by ASA last year and NOCSAE stated that the sticker was good.

What the H () does 6-1-1f (3) have to do with a catcher's helmet? That is another of my gripes. They have about 19
references that are incorrect.

John,

You go to SA? Did not see you at the Houston meet.

The answer might be in the rule directly before. 1-6-1 speaks of batting helmets having the permanent NOCSAE stamp and futher states that the warning label may be sticker form or embossed. So I assume (and we all know what that can mean) that catchers equipment would follow the same guidelines.

LJ

Maybe, but they are covering different areas.

John,

Walt was at our meet also. Kinda suprised me and everyone else when
he saw me came over and embrassed me. Course he had to mention
that he was glad to see me because that made two "old farts" at
the meetin.

The warning label on the batting helmets may be a sticker, but the NOCSAE stamp must be permanent on both batting helmets and catcher's head gear.
