Worked in a tournament this weekend where I had 9 games in
the two day event, and not once in any game did a coach come out and question one of my calls. Now, that thar, Makes You Feel Good. HS ball starts week after next here.

Glen - glad to hear you are back out on the field.
Besides feeling good about not having your calls questioned, how are you feeling physically? Hope all is well and getting better after your episode a few months ago. A friend of mine once told me this about coaches questioning umpire's calls: If you are a good umpire, you won't hear much because the coach knows you are good and s/he just figures you missed it and you will get the next one. If you are a bad umpire, you won't hear much because the coach figures it's not going to do any good to question you anyway. If you are somewhere in the middle, that's when you will really hear it from the coaches. My friend told me that he doesn't usually hear much from the coaches so he must be either really good or really bad!

Physically, feeling great. No more problems, doing everything I am suppose to by doctors orders. Did 5 games in a row, all 1:30 finish batter. Bought a small sawmil and cutting my lumber for my new house. Should start framing in a couple of weeks, weather permitting. Thanks for asking.

What about mentally? Oh no! Sawmill operator that is only in good physical condition! Next thing we know, we will be hearing a story about some poor damsel named Nell being sawed in half by Snidley "Glen" Whiplash! Where's Dudly Do-right when you need him?!?!
