But the question still at the top of my list is if Mr. Easton truly believes there would be a COI, why did he accept a position where decisions on many sports must be made on a continual basis? Also, if he knew this was going to happen, was the USOC informed and, if so, is there a provision for a proxy in the IOC code? From what I understand, the ISF and other softball factors were comfortable with their position and did not lobby up to the last second, but left to return home.
