I niether like, nor dislike the safety base.
Were it not used, we could eliminate some rules in the book, and have a bit less to watch for. None of that is a real bother to me, it's there, it seems to work OK. The only gripe I have is,Why is the double base really needed? I call a lot of baseball, we don't use 'em there and don't have any problems. There are similar "force plays" made at 2B, 3B, and HP. Why are double bases not needed there?
