Adult Mens SP using double base - 2 outs R1 on 3rd - This may sound backwards, but the double base was put in backwards so that the orange was on the field and the white was in foul territory.
Ground ball to F3 which he bobbles and makes this to be a close play. F3 runs to orange part of bag(remember the bag was backwards which makes this the correct side) just ahead of BR, but his momentum takes him over the bag and he crashes into BR. I called BR out and the crash as incidental contact. Was this correct? |

Yes. Now, have them pick up and reverse the base (which had no bearing on the play, since the fielder used the bag in fair territory, and the runner used the bag in foul territory, as the rule intended).

I didn't have any other call in mind, but the BR team had all kinds of other suggestions (Most of which I can't repeat here). I reread the rule book and could not find any reason to call the runner safe for F3 using the wrong side of the bag as he did use the correct side. If I have a situation that causes a lot of questions during a game, I like to post it here just to get some perspective.
