Ok who calls the IFF.

I have been BU with a couple of vetran blues and there were a couple of plays that should have been IFF but they were not called by the PU.

I put my arm up, when the ball reached the apex and the balls were caught, but if they had been dropped then there could have been a mess.

Discuss in pregame. Do you do signals prior to the pitch when IFF is in effect? You should. It's possible the PU you're working with simply doesn't remember. The signal helps there, and then he also is reminded when you're pointing up.

This is PU's call.

Also remember that even if not called the IFF rule is always in effect.

If it is an IF and you know it and your partner does not call it, feel free to make that call.

NFHS rule 8-4 art.1(H) says batter is OUT if she hits an infield fly when the IFF is in effect, "EVEN IF IT'S NOT CALLED"!
