My daughter started umpiring fastpitch this past week. She is having a difficult time finding plate shoes in smaller sizes. Nobody seems to carry women's sizes and a men's size 6 is too big.
Lady blue's . . . help. Where do you go to buy your plate shoes? |

I wear a men's size 7 so it isn't a problem for me. Tanel may have something small enough. My first pair was a steel toe work boot by red wing. Perhaps if people write to the companies that make the shoes they will realize that we umpire too.

I have the opposite problem, a large wide foot which the normal brands of plate shoes do not fit. I buy the steel toed tennis shoes and then on my shin guards, get the instep protectors.
I don't know what my supplier (Wal-Mart) has, but a quick search on the net found the following web site with a number of women's all black steel toed tennis shoes: http://www.workshoecity.com/allshoes.htm
