I think you need a new radar gun!

In the situation you describe, maybe working behind the pitcher is ok if you don't readily have your equipment available. I have done the same in the past.

Ideally, you wouldn't have to work from behind the pitcher.

Sorry, but I will never believe a kid that young is throwing that hard.
