I have a Little League umpire that wants to switch to ASA. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts of differences between these two rule bodies.

Thanks in advance.

DaveASA/FED,
The rules are close enough to afford minimal confusion.
Possible difference may include:
  • Uniform
  • Equipment
  • Pitcher footwork
  • Base running

    No problem at all.

  • Actually, all the LL umpires I've encountered needed retraining. However, most adapt with minimal problems, they just need to get the baseball(OBR) out of their head.

    I agree, Mike.
Retraining from the big diamond to the small diamond can certainly add some questions.
LL Softball umpires don't all have those OBR problems.

    Cool LL to ASA

Actually, if you are talking LL softball to ASA Softball, there is very little difference. A few minor ones, such as the diffence in legal pitch delivery (footwork).
