Question

I saw the question regarding sliding under ASA rules. What is your understanding of the rule for sliding under NFHS (National Federation of High School)rules? Is it mandatory for a runner to slide into a base? (I like to check with the brain trust.)

Noone has a manditory slide rule in their book. A runner must slide or give themselves up but they cannot run into the def player with excessive force.

Of course no requirement to slide, same as ASA, but the main difference between the two is Fed specifies what an illegal slide is and runner is out if slide is illegal or if illegal contact is made..
