Game Management ?

I have had 2 games along the lines of 30-0. Not one of the coaches asked me if they could concede. So my post may be absurd but not unrealistic. How is telling to other coach to concede game management ?

I agree the game shouldn't be based on financial win/loss but lets not get too pie in the sky . I am thinking you cash your checks for umping these games ,so at some level you do what you do for the money.

Would never tell or suggest to coach that he concede.

But when he comes to YOU to ask, "How long are you going to let this go on", your response is "as long as it takes unless you concede." Most will concede. Occasionally, this exact sitch has caused the managers to both come to me to widen the zone to get it over with, at which point I oblige.

First, I would never tell a coach that he needs to concede, just merely make the suggestion when asked the question. If you read my original post carefully you would know this.

Secondly, you ask how telling or suggesting to the coach is game management, but yet you tout the manufacturing of outs by deliberately bending the rules (i.e. cheating) as game management. Go figure. At least my way is a little more honest and up front, and gets the game over with quicker.

Lastly, if the coaches in games that slanted are not asking ways to bring it to a quicker end, then coaches where you come from are not doing their jobs. I don't know of anyone who would want to endure a five hour marathon and be handed their butts on a platter, without wanting to find a more humane way for their team to get out of there.

Conclusion

I believe I have reached that place where I am tired of thinking about it.
