Steve

Thanks for the ideas I think keep the diary one is a very good idea I had not thought of and will start. I really want to thank you for your replies and all the other guys too. I know I have come a pest in here for the last week or so but just trying to get my mind all set to start this new season. As I said earlier I am starting my 3rd year as a Umpire but have been either playing or coaching softball/baseball for the last 20 years. I coach by boy baseball teams from time he was 5 till 17 and played on different softball teams for about 6 years till team broke up. I thought Umpiring would be interesting and its been great I only wish I would of had this knowledge when I was coaching and playing as I've learn Umpiring. Anyways I know all of our seasons are about ready to start.

GOOD LUCK AND THANKS

Don

Cool Don......don't quit now

Don.......you seem to have a pretty good handle on the rules.

Don't stop frequenting the boards just because the season starts. As the season progresses, there will be many coaches, players, parents, and innocent bystanders that will post requesting information.

The more of US that are here on the same page citing the rules against the famous myths like:

The hands are part of the bat.

The ball hit the ground and is dead (FP)

The fielder must give way to the runner..etc.

The better we can educate the masses.......that is making the assumption that they want to be educated.

Many times you get a disgruntled coach/player/parent who posts that no matter what evidence you give them.......they are sure that the Umpires screwed them......

That is when it can really get fun.
