Hey...it is actually snowing here in North Texas!!! Forecast 1-4 inches. Highs for the next three days are supposed to be right around freezing. I feel like I am in some place like Minnesota, or, heaven forbid, Delaware.

It's colder than a brass seat in an outhouse here (outside my office: 0 deg F, -16 deg F wind chill, forecast low tonight: -6 deg F) but no snow.

2nd "brown" Christmas in 3 years unless something happens quick to surprise the forecasters.

But, then, this "white Christmas" notion is a romantic Currier and Ives image created by Irving Berlin for the movie....

Wait - trivia question. What movie? (No Google searches allowed!)

Holiday Inn.

The sun is shining, the grass is green,
The orange and palm trees sway.
There's never been such a day,
In Beverly Hills, LA.
But today is December the twenty-fourth,
And I am longing to be up north . . .

Many performers are now including Berlin's original opening, which was almost always omitted in earlier versions. This opening, however, is very important to the musical balance of the song, and should be included.

Incidentally, many singers of "God Bless America" similarly omit Berlin's opening and begin with the familiar melody.

I'll take the politically incorrect cigar.

My slip-and-fall attorney wants your name and address, however.

Why, it was sunny and in the high 40's today. Same tomorrow, but expecting temps to run in the mid-50's.

Personally, I would love a white christmas.

What a bunch of whimps!

You've obviously got some of the greatest whether in the world and you are sitting there complaining about it!

Do me a favor and send it North where we know how to enjoy it.

Merry Christmas, it's insult time!

No whimp here, spent over two hours outside in it being a good neighbor shoveling my driveways and walkways. Personally, I love it. It's great. 0 degrees now. High today 5. (45 by Wednesday).

As I said, I love snow. I just don't like the idiot drivers in this part of the state that don't know how to drive in snow. I mean, it is a world of difference between the northern part of this state and the southern part/central part. People here think you can still fly up to a stop sign and slam on the brakes and STILL stop in time. MORONS.

The hell with that! That's why God invented boots and 4-wheel drive!

Trust me, that is everywhere. Personally, I believe intelligent driving in bad weather went out the window with the standard transmission! You cannot purchase an SUV (a real SUV) with anything by an automatic. What a waste of a good vehicle!

Unhappy

I am a little jealous. We just got the cold here in Minnesota. No snow, just brown grass and -15 at night. I want some snow. We have not had any at all. I do wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

You people complain about the beauty of a crisp breeze, snow on the ground... wusses. I'm the one who's really suffering. High in the 70's and too darn much humidity.
