Quote:
I am a coach, a softball Dad and a major fan of the game. Softball has become my passion. I am not an official. I have participated on this board for the past couple of years and have had a tremendous learning experience. I have tried to present questions and situations on here in a intelligent and respectful manner. Many people look to me for answers and I base most of that knowledge on what I have learned here. I have developed a great respect for the job umpires do. However, coaches are a major part of the game also and contribute a great deal of their time and energy to the players and the game itself. Please do not lump coaches in a negative category because a few may attempt to lay blame on officials for their own failures or ignorance of rules. We all recognize that there are bad apples in most barrels. I would be willing to bet that there are a larger number of coaches that use this board passively than you might think.

He is absolutely right.
Typing, but no stereotyping, please.
