I umpired in a tournament in Houston this weekend where Lindsey
had a booth and was also coaching a team in the tournament. However, mainly she was being an ambassador for the game of softball. When she was not coaching, she was teaching. Boys and girls of all ages always crowded around to listen and learn hitting techniques. These kids from from age 6 to 18. (Countless of Mom's and Dad's also had questions.) You would have had to seen it to really know the effort and engery she put into her program. She stated she may not know it all, but she knows plenty and showed that she really wants to share her knowledge of the game and the abilities that she has. My hats off to Lindsey Gardner. She definiately has the right attitude about the game and is showing it when teaching and talking with our younger generation. I hope she continues her efforts. My one regret was that I did not get to umpire a game in which she was coaching. I almost missed one of my games while watching her work with the kids. She has a couple of articles over on eteamz and also a website. Definiately an assest to the game of softball. glen
