2 strikes on the hitter, she swings at a pitch & the ball hits her hand ...... dead ball strike. its strike 3 , right? not a foul ball?

That makes 3 add 1 to the number of outs.

Here he or she comes.....

right after you call the batter out. prepare yourself to turn and meet the coach because they (assuming we are talking a middle to lower level of ball) will not understand what you just called.

H.S. District Championship play a couple years ago. Batter squares to bunt; ball is coming right at her; moves bat at ball (I think more to protect herself than to bunt); misses ball and gets drilled in the ribs. I look down at her laying on the ground, tears in her eyes and trying hard not to cry out. "Young Lady, I know that hurts like hell, but it is going to hurt even more when you find out that I called a strike on you!"

She managed a weak laugh, got up, and stepped back in to bat, now with two strikes on her.
