Who does she think she is - Nolan Ryan?

In my response to Dave, I commented that single man sucks for calling the IP. That reminded me of a game I had earlier this year.

After taking the throw back from F2, the pitcher would turn her back to me and circle around back to the plate. Her hand motions looked a little suspicous, like she was trying to hide something.

So, I started to make subtle moves over to the thrid base side of the plate between pitches, gradually getting where I could see more of what she was doing.

She was lickig her fingers and applying them directly to the ball. BAM - ILLEGAL.

Since it took me awhile to catch on, and it took a few pitches to get to where I could see her, there were 2 runners on base by the time I called it.

Darn. Too bad.
