If the catcher is 18 years old, she does not have to wear a
mask while warming up the pitcher.

This came from the catcher of a very good ASA team playing in
the finals of the undefeated teams.

My partner and I told her to don it, or warm it (bench).

Posted this on another thread, but it applies here.

Had a catcher (10U league ball) "freak out" after having the gear on for a while. Seems it was her first time catching in a game.

Apparently, they don't make here wear it during practice. WOW!

If the 18yo is a member of the JO team playing that game, she must wear the mask. However, if not, it isn't required though it should be.

The girl probably is on her "I'm 18 and therefore an adult" trip. Geeesh! Those are the worst to deal with. Gotta be firm with those.
