Thumbs down

It has rained just about every day for the last week. I have lost ball games every day this week so far and looks like the whole week is a wash. I CANT take TV any longer the rain needs to go away for at least awhile.

Glen...Are you getting the same down that away? Have not heard from the tournament that was suppose to be in Conroe this week so I am assuming it probably going to be a wash too.

Just venting

Today is the first day we have had without some sort of rain
since last Thursday. We barely got to finish the tournament
I was in and then only because so many teams dropped out after the
first washout.

I had one in Humble for this weekend, but it has washed.

Conroe is only a hop, skip and jump from there. Will check around
and see if anyone knows. There was also one scheduled in Kingwood,
but have not heard anything about it. A guy did just call me and ask
if I would UIC a 10U NFSA tournament in Pearland.
This has been an unusally wet year for us.

BTW, we got three (3) inches of rain last night.

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of when I told the other 2 guys it was this weekend, not next weekend. Had to eat a lot of crow on that one. Gonna call in Waxahachie instead, 18-U Gold. Oughtta be fun, if the rain goes away long enough.

3 inches? The news station said that Aledo, about 20 miles west of here got between 5-8 inches yesterday. They're flooding bad, and they're up in the hills!

Our area of Minnesota got 8" of rain in 15 hours starting last night. The State High School tournament is in town this weekend. I hope the fields are as good as they say they are.

Are you calling in them? If so, good luck and have fun. If you don't mind, keep the rain up there, OK?

Don
Don,

Does that mean you are available for next week?

Looks like you Texas guys are in for some sun now according to the radar. We had 2" of rain last year during the State HS tournament and were playing an hour later. Caswell Park is amazing. I hear we have more storms coming for Friday. That's when the quarterfinals are played. I am working during the tournament and it should be some real good softball.

Yes. The clouds are starting to thin out as I write this. However, we have a slight chance of rain again on Sunday.

Just got the word, the 18-U tournament I was going to just rained out. Too muddy for any hope.

Scott, I hear Grand Prairie fields are under water from the Trinity River?

Is that tournament in the Dallas, Fort Worth area? I have a friend coming down this weekend to UIC a 18U tournament in that area.

Yeah, Grand Prairie is just West of Dallas on an Interstate. Midlothian is about 25 miles SW of Dallas. It just depends on where the fields are as to whether they are playing or not. There are some softball fields about 4 blocks from my house that is playing a tournament tonight. I turned it down for the other one.

My bad.

In Minnesota we got another 2" of rain this Morning at 5 AM but after the 9.5" on Wed. it was an issue. The fields were ready at 10:00 AM. They certainly built them right. They are completly drain tiled and were in great playing shape. Three pitches into the semi-final the tornado sirens went off sending 2000 people into a nearby middle school for about 45 min. Fortunately the rain hit east of us and we were able to finish the game. 1-0 home team scores in the bottom of the 6th and holds on for the win. I think it's all past us and it will be a great day tommorrow.

Smile Glen

I never heard from the guys on Conroe so I am assuming it got canceled. I would really like to come down your way next weekend but pretty much scheduled out for the next few weeks with tournaments and league. Do hope to make it down your way sometime in the near future to work and to get a chance to meet ya.

Have a good one

Don
