Heading to Beaumont to do a college exposure tournament, which
is also an AFA Qualifier. Been told we have 38 18U teams in it. Now that there is only the State tournament to be played, we have more of the older age groups. Forecast is for 92 degrees today, with about 100 PC humidity. There is some convention going on in Beaumont also, and they are having to house us at the Dorms at Lamar U. BTW Lamar is going with softball for the first time in 05. Anyone looking for a coaching job? Everyone have a good weekend. TexBlue, will get with you on Monday about the scheduling for the NFSA State tournament. Sure which you could have made it Scott.

Yeah Glen...so do I. Like I said, I will find a way to get down there eventually.
Which brings up this question. What safeguards do you take to battle the Gulf Coast heat and humidity?

I start drinking water and gatorade two days in advance. Plenty of both. We have a mist tent which I utilize between games and always strip to nothing but shorts and shower clogs. Stay away from caffine and carbonated drinks. I carry 1/2 gallon water jug, towel and Ammonia spirit bucket with ice and towels. We normally work two on one off. I stay away from hot dogs, hamburgers french fries for food. Fruit and jello or puddings. I also change clothes two to three times a day. It all helps.
