Read ASA 10.9.A & C, reread the original post and then compare it with the statement above.

I believe you will recognize the difference.

Wade:

ANY derogatory/insulting comment aimed at you personally is reason to toss. I agree with Mike's assertion that USC is USC regardless of age..etc. Also, I think you handled the ejection just the way you should have, matter of fact and with little fanfare. Good job!

Take your crappy comment and crap it on out of here, Crapster.

Toss 'em.

There are things that I definitely ignore. Having ignored them... I don't have any good examples. Not really. Everyone has their own limits and they change depending upon the situation and what kind of mood you are in... etc.

In general, if it is something I feel won't escalate and that it just requires me to ignore it for a couple seconds and then it will be over, I do just that - ignore it. Keep playing.

If it is something directed at me and just won't stop, then warning is probably appropriate. Followed by dugout restriction and subsequently ejection if it continues.

Derogatory and directed at me... ejection is the answer (I mean reward - a free ticket out-a-here).

"That's a crappy (or insert appropriate adjective) call, Blue!" - Say that and shut up and you stay in the game.

Say it later and you'll get "That's enough, coach".

Say it and continue to rant, and you can watch from the parking lot.

However....
"You're a crappy (or insert appropriate adjective) umpire!" - gone. Buh-bye. First offense.
