During throw from 3rd a 2nd baseman drops ball and it stays in the basepath from 1st to 2nd base. 2nd baseman trying to pick up ball with bare hand and is keeping her feet & legs atop the bag making it impossible for the runner to reach 2nd without contact. Runner had to slow up to avoid the contact.
.
I do not believe this is obstruction, but still baserunner should be safe if fielder picks up the ball before the baserunner could get to the bag.
.
So does a fielder fielding a botched throw & drop still have the "right of way" or not.
.
PS I called her out, and I'm not feeling too good about it

Once she drops the ball...obstruction...she does not have the right to black the bag (ASA)

As a matter of fact, she doesn't even have the right to block it either!

What's the problem azbigdawg? You spelled "black" correctly.
