Best l ine I heard all year, 1st game of the season. Player has tape over new piercing with a stud. Player says she has a doctor's note saying she can play with the earring. My partner says he has a rule book that says you can't!

I called the plate in a 4A varsity high school game the other night and one of the teams had matching paper flat wrist bands.
I did allow them to play, last game of regular season and apparently had been allowed all season. Did I do the right thing? They appeared to be harmless enough and looking at the rule above they would not qualify as jewelry. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

I wouldn't consider paper bands (I'm visualizing something like the amusement park "I've paid" bands) to be jewelry.

If the bands were wide and yellow, I might have a problem
with them. For necklaces the rule does include cloth or
string types as being prohibited from wearing. I would
definiately not allow the pitcher to wear it if I judged it
to be distracting to the batters.

Rick,
I can't do that. :)
All I can do, if I choose, is delete or edit a post that some member finds offensive.
Not only is the search function under review, so is the search (for members) function.

Wrist bands were flat 1/2 inch wide and same color as uniforms. Not even noticable unless you were looking for them.
