Under Rule 2 in NFHS the definitions for Legal and Illegal Slide are the same for both Softball and Baseball with one exeption. Popup slide is omitted in the Softball Rule book. Does this mean that in softball the runner can use the popup slide to breakup the double play.

One would assume it is now legal. It was not a couple of
years ago. The pop-up slide rule disappeared when all the
rewriting and shifting of rules took place in about 2001.
I will admit, I rarely see the popup utilized on close plays.
