Finally went over ASA 2004 test at last nights meeting. UIC has answer sheet. Question #95 has me puzzled. I am wondering if answer sheet is wrong, or where am I confused.

(FP Only) On an attempted squeeze play, F2 obstructs B1's swing, catches the ball and tags out R1 as R1 slides home. The umpire should rule:
a. Award B1 to 1B and return R1 to 3B
b. Award R1 home and award B1 first base on obstruction
c. Eject F2 for USC and score the run
d. Award R1 home and call a ball on B1

c & d are clearly wrong. I chose a. which appears to be the correct answer. The UIC's answer sheet chose b, and I can not justify this answer. This question only tells of a runner at third, which would not be forced home. On catchers OBS, (if all runners do not advance one base), the option is given to offense. R1 could only score if bases were loaded. We were not given that info, so how is it to be determined that runner scores? I am sticking with a. We had one wrong anwer on UIC's sheet last year, I am hoping this is another. I may just be missing something, but........

Read rule 8:1 D:4:b. That should clear things up for you.
