uniform for umpire in Fast Pitch? Do we still wear our light blue shirts with the ASA logo or do you have to buy the light blue shirt without the logo?

If you're calling ASA fastpitch, then the ASA shirt is the proper uniform. ASA does discourage shorts for fastpitch (although I think it is legal).

If you have a partner, you must be dressed alike.

ASA official is still the powder blue pullover with the ASA on the shirt. But there is the provision of matching you partner and some states have adopted other variations. So I guess the long answer is see your local UIC. It could be any of four, ASA powder, powder with no ASA, Navy with ASA, Navy no ASA(navy with gray pants).

Cool

Last summer, I just happened to stop at a game on the way home from another game.
Our Local ASA UIC, behind the plate of a Women's Fast Pitch game, was wearing
  • Full quipment ($150.00)
  • Powder blue pullover ($32.00),
  • Grey pants ($42.00)
  • and ... and ...[Wha's that?]... and white sox and sandals ($22.95 for the set).

  • Digital camera in my truck (Priceless)

    White socks and sandals....

Either a foul ball off the toe or the catcher stepping back on the toe would cure that.

  • Sound like...

    Drives to the field.
    Starts getting dressed.
    "CRAP!"
No time to make a round trip home.
    "Dancing time - play ball!"

I had a mens slowpitch game directly after work once. I forgot to put my spot-builts in the car, so I had to do the game in my dress shoes, wearing short pants.
