This last weekend, I worked the Tournament of Champions in Bullhead City, AZ. HS teams from California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Texas. Every team had won either a league or state title in the past few years. I worked twelve games over the course of the weekend, two games went to ITB (tourney rules), three games ended up 1-0. The tournament was won by Elkins HS from Missouri City, TX. They beat Mater Dei HS from the Los Angeles area 1-0. I had the Elkins team for three games, including the quarter-final and semi-final games. I was very impressed with this team.

Glen, I know that you do games around Houston. Have you seen this team?

Darrell,

I asked the AD of Mohave HS about that. He said that they are planning to hold the tournament as usual next year. The only change is that a new person will be running it. The guy that has run it for years has retired from teaching due to health issues and this was his last year.

However, I will wait and see.

Not seen them this year Andy. Do know that they are 21-0 overall.
Usually have a great team and in the playoffs. They did not go
to the Brenham tournament this year, but have in the past.
