Ball deflected over the fence
The Fed 2026 casebook (8.5.5 situation E) has a fly ball to F8. In part b the ball deflects off the top of the fence, strikes the fielder’s glove and ricochets over the fence in fair territory. The ruling given says the batter is awarded 2 bases. In c the ball deflects off the glove and over the fence and in d the ball deflects off the top of the fence and goes over the fence. The ruling for c and d is a home run. The ruling for b seems to contradict rule 8.5.6 I don’t understand where in the rules, the double deflection in b results in a 2 bases award
