For the last few years, the WCWS umpires were selected from those that worked the regional rounds and those umpires did not work a Super Regional. There were a few stated reasons for this....Some umpires had job commitments and trying to take time off three weeks in a row was hard and on short notice, The NCAA wanted the Series umpires to have a week off so they would be "fresh" for the series. This year, they abandoned that philosophy and all of the umpires working the series worked the Regional and Super Regional rounds. The umpires that I have been told have been selected for the WCWS are: Tracy Hart Erin Peterson Brandon Bluhm Chris Nabors Scott Mair Naomi Erhdahl and two others that I can'rt recall right now. Congrats to each of them for the assignment...I'm sure they will do a great job.
