Your "ads by Google" has gotten so large that on my meagre little screen I now have to scroll down to find the softball board.

Guess what? I don't come here to buy soccer jerseys or donate to the WWF!

Are popups next?

Tom,

I can appreciate your angst concerning the ads, but if that is what it takes to keep this board going, I can handle a little inconvenience of paging down. It certainly beats having to deal with the likes we saw on McGriffs.

Bidness is bidness... I have no problem with a company trying to pay the bills or even, horrors , make a profit.

But, even eteamz, which is openly and completely commercial, still provides a good discussion board, has the courtesy to put their sponsored ads at the bottom and/or in popups (where they can be filtered out).

I like this board a lot. I'd rather have to scroll down that not have the board at all. But... I'd really prefer that the ads be put at the bottom of the page.

Good - buy from the advertizers & help pay the bills so we can all continue to enjoy this board! (You can still click on ads at the bottom of the page, tho!)

Though I too don't care for ads invading my space, I understand. What I don't understand is why I get ads for jerseys, bats and balls.

Jerseys? We're umpires. We don't need no stinkin' jerseys.

Bats? We throw them out, we don't buy them.

Balls? {Fill in your own joke here}

I've pretty much got the same thoughts Dan expressed. Who knows, if some of the umpire suppliers put a link up, I might even visit.
