good mechanic
This signal, while to help the wing guys know that there can't be DPI or inelgibles downfield ( I doubt many wing guys see it anyway) is a good mechanic for making sure the U, especially novice U's,...

why is it taped?

I'm a NJ official commuting to work in Toronto. Was going to try to hook up with some Canadian bro's and take in a game from the sideline if possible before the NJ season starts.
