Heres a question that I got last night and did not have an answer for
Can a player that is not the goalier wear a shin guard? It is in place to protect from furter injury. My answer was I did not think so but I did not see anything in the rule book.

If the shinpad was properly padded on the outside then I would allow it, kind of like how a cast must have the soft foam around the outside. Otherwise this is illegal.

The rules tell you what you can't do. For example, no where in the rules does it say that the players are allowed to wear contact lenses, but absent a rule prohibiting them they're legal.

I don't know of any specific rule prohibiting shinguards. There are rules about general items that the officials think might be dangerous in the NCAA rules, and I think NFHS has the same rules. I'd have a hard time imagining shin guards being dangerous to anyone, though.

Actually I change my opinion on this, this is legal. Even before I probaly would have let it go but I don't think this is illegal.
