During mandatory stick checks under NFHS rules, what are you looking for?

pocket depth
length of stick
width of head
player's equipment
string length

what about if the ball will roll out and not get caught by sidewall? Does the NFHS rulebook address this issue?

All of that, you're looking for anything that may be illegal. Here's an interesting thread on the subject: http://www.nfhs.org/scriptcontent/va...;f=20;t=000038

keep in mind that if youre doing mandatory stick checks at the college club level, (maybe higher, too) youre only doing sticks and not players equipment. you only look at equipment if the coach asks for an equipment check.

also, if the player pulls on his strings on his crosse when you ask him for his stick, thats an automatic one minute NR.
