Ok, we all officiate for the love of the sport.......but why else?

Why would someone leave their home and family for an entire weekend for what barely pays for the gas and equipment, to run up and down a field or court being abused by all in attendance?

Kinda cynical, yes. But, why do we do it? I will give you a few of my whys:

- The feeling I receive from working with the athletes and coaches
- The joy (or anger) from performing to the best of my ability
- The comaraderie with other officials. Some have become life long friends
- The chance to work with great officials on the field, who have the same objective as you

So, why do you do it?
