My ? regards a foul ball call. In my sons LLG a batter was 2 and 2. The next pitch was fouled off his fingures. The umpire called him out, after he called it a foul ball. He said the batter swung on the pitch even tho it hit him for a strike. My ? a foul ball off the fingures is still a foul ball right? He still should have had one more chance to swing? |

Actually, the umpire should not have called it a foul. He should have called Time and Strike Three for the ball touching the batter on a strike. To be considered a foul, the ball would have had to contact the bat prior to the hands, which as Bob stated, are not part of the bat.
