I have been using Honig's Game Card for many years. A few years ago the format changed and it is not as easy to use as before.

Can someone recommend a good game card?

I made my own. It cost about 20 cents per card to have them printed. It was well worth it. Now, the card is exactly how I want it to be. I would highly recommend this option.

I've used the Honig's card but the spaces are incredibly small to try to write in. Not very user friendly.

Now, I just use index cards and make my own. I record coin toss options, timeouts, and the fouls I call. That's it.

I make my own on the computer: Team names; Captains; coin toss -who won and option selected; Timeouts and points by quarter and a space for OT and unsportsmanlike fouls to know who got the first one in case there is a second. Made it exactly to fit in my shirt pocket. If anyone wants a template, let me know.

If you can scan it and send me the image file, I can post it on my website at www.footballrefs.com

Looks like several people are interested in seeing your game data card

Smile Might be too late but...

Hi Guys,
I have a game card that I make as well. I can send it to you or scan it and you can make it work. If you would like a copy, send an email to Line Judge.

Just put in the subject something about gamecard. I have it made in WORD format, but can convert it over to something else. Also, I can customize it so it will have your association name on it.

The card has team names, captains, time outs and spaces for USC fouls. For you guys that need to record penalties, I have one for that as well. Just let me know which one you like.

Just glad to help...
Uncle Ernie.

Different

I got a new plastic card from Honig's this year and it was formatted slightly differently than the last one. More room to write stuff now. Just FYI.

Does the new plastic card look like the new disposable card posted on Honig's web site?

No, it's more like their old plastic card. I think the one they have posted now is accurate.

I found one somewhere, ...not sure where. It's small and has all the info I need on it. I took it to the printer a made a bunch of copies. I bought one of those 5" x 3" plastic picture magnet frames - - fit nicely in my front pocket, ...keeps the card dry and I can look at it without taking the card out.

I also got a bunch from the NFL - - umpires card. It's OK. Has too much stuff on it if you ask me. I don't work umpire anymore though, but it has space for everything under the sun on there - - I guess those guys need to be thorough.
