Ed, I guess we'll disagree, but I appreciate the discourse! Heck, I even find myself agreeing with Rut! |

Updated with real time play
Hello all, the Play on the Web was updated with the real time version of the Touchdown or Not play. I also reset the poll, so that you can revote with the real time play and see if that changes your opinion of a TD or Not..

Just saw the full speed version. It is still a TD.
He has the ball firmly in his grip while both feet are touching the ground. The player then knocks the ball out of his hands. The fact that player didn't do a "football move" should be immaterial. Who is the NFL rules committee to sya what a football move is, unless of course, they had discussion and agreement amongst the 32 teams. Maybe that player likes to hang onto the ball with outstretched arms, as a method of celebration after immediately having both feet touch the ground. Maybe I don't agree with the NFL rule 100%, but that still doesn't change the fact that both of his feet are on the ground when the ball is in grasp of the player's two hands. |
