Yeah, they need to worry about giving officials background checks.

Well there is a reason I do not work any of this crap. This is one of the reasons. No perspective on the bigger picture at all by these coaches or fans.

Peace

Thank goodness the youth league I work in would not tolerate any of this garbage. They'd also have deputies on the field with more enroute to help get order restored.

Arrested, according to yahoo news. Not sure if Florida has enhanced penalties for assaulting officials.

Couple of thoughts

1. Why did the officials back themselves into the fence? I would forfeit the game and get the heck out of there.

2. Why is the white hat milling around away from the other officials? It's almost as if he is distancing himself from them.

3. Why is a guy wearing a white hat in a peewee game in the first place?

Varies by area. Back in my old association in California, it would be unheard of to have a game without a white hat from peewee all the way up to varsity. Here, you won't find a white hat below varsity.

Why is a guy DOING a peewee game?? When parents run the show, winning is the most important thing. That's why I NEVER do these games. These idiots don't deserve good officials. And, maybe a background check on anyone who works with kids would be mandatory. Besides violent ex-felons there may be some Jerry Sanduskys out there too. Youth sports, the way they are currently run, is a caldron of problems. Parents shouldn't be allowed to attend and coaches should be trained better. As a parent, I wouldn't turn my kid over to these idiots.
