Since many of you followed the threads concerning the coaches who assaulted a 19-year old football official in Palos Hills, Illinois last year, I figured I'd give you the epilogue: The State of Illinois, specifically the Cook County Court system DOES protect officials of organized sports contests.
Louis Trench, one of the coaches on trial, was found guilty in a bench trial on June 26, 2003 at the Hickory Hill's branch of Cook County courts. He will be sentenced at the same courthouse (Room 208) on July 30 at 10:30am. See the Daily Southtown Newspaper article by clicking the hyperlink below:
