I looked through the rule book for this past year looking jersey regulations for the 2000 football season. Do they have to be belt length or do they have to be tucked in? Any help would be grateful.

Tom.....If you have a case book, it will be on page 7 under play 1.5.1A. (b) Team A players are wearing jerseys that extend below the top of their pants, but some players have them tucked in, while others have them outside their pants.....Ruling: the jerseys of all players will have to be tucked inside the pants. (1-5-1d).Hope this info helps you.....Larry Gonski

Normally as a white hat official, I would ask the player or players to tuck it in between downs. There is no need to enforce it as it tends to over doing it. However one law suit did came up years ago when a player was whipped around by a player that caused an injury........Larry Gonski sunny So. Cal.
