Here in So. Cal, we have a few leagues that require overtime in case of a tie after regualation has expired. After the initial coin toss and selection of offense/def. can a B player intercept a pass and return it for a touchdown? Can any team play in overtime with ten players?

According to High School Federation Rules, once the defense gains possesion of the ball in overtime the paly is over and it is now's B's ball on offense on the 20-yard line.

Larry,

Under NCAA rules, if B intercepts the pass and returns it for a touchdown, the game would be over, since A would have finished its series and B already scored. As far as the question of playing with 10 players, the only time a penalty occurs is if more than 11 participate, or if it is the offense, there are less than 7 players on the line of scrimmage.
