Most of us own them because they are reversible and we wear the black side out during pre-game and at half time on those cold, rainy, and this year extremely windy nights.

Agreed.
I will wear the striped jacket for lower level games where it's extremely cold, windy, or raining.... but I won't wear it ever for varsity games (other then black-side-out during warm-ups/halftime).

Only happened twice for me this year though.

Our local HS V FB Coach wear shorts regardless of the temps or weather.....

Of course, he has enough "insulation" to keep himself warm. ;)

Maybe he's just subscribing to TMQ's "Cold Coach = Victory" theory.

I don't thin the player's actions alone warrant ejection. To me this is nothing more than a twist on the barking dog or forgotten tee plays. The players actions were meant to simply distract the defense. Unsportsmanlike? Certainly. Worthy of ejection? I don't think so.

Upper thirties and these guys are dressed like it's subzero.

Also, who is the guy that comes onto the field at the end of the video? No one seems to mind that he is out there.

It's not a situation where you have a choice. If your state association says certain actions result in an ejection, then you'd be smart to follow that policy. Otherwise, when the opposing coach sends the video in and asks why the player wasn't ejected, your season is going to be over.

As for their attire, I couldn't care less what people do to keep warm. Cold is relative to where you live. A 35 degree night might be great star gazing weather for you northerners but I remmeber a post on this board where a Florida official said he wears long sleeves when it hits 60.

There's no NCHSAA policy against coats. As my white hat says "I'm not getting cold or sick for any of you." http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...ages/sick3.gif

No, have you? I'd like to. I hope, *hope*, that there's something not being reported in the article and on the boards at wissports.net.

I'm in England, so I haven't really looked. Once I got my schedule, I booked a work trip for the week after my season ended. :)

Maybe he knew it went directly over the upright but didn't know if that made it good or no good. That's not an excuse and something someone working at this level should know. There are errors that can be made and there is a lack of rules knowledge.

If you stop the ball right when it reaches the goal post it is inside. IMO

I agree. If my state association sends a directive that hand springs, cartwheels or triple sowcows result in automatic ejection, I will defintely comply.

He's the one whose ball they borrowed. I think he needed it back.
