NFHS: Defensive pass interference on touchdown

In NFHS game, defensive pass interference on play where the offensive team scores a touchdown. White hat determines that the penalty may be enforced on the try or kick-off. Is this the correct penalty enforcement? My thought would be that the offense would decline the penalty, with a touchdown being scored.

That is correct.

The referee probably determined this after reading his rule book. Good call.

The offense can choose to enforce the penalty on the try or on the kickoff.

Any foul against the defense that occurs on a TD, PAT, or FG.

Any dead ball foul or foul that's penalized as a dead ball foul after a score on either team.
